Kenan Malicevic brings more than 35 years of playing and coaching experience to CRSA, combining a high-level playing career with a passion for developing the next generation of players. As the Director of Coaching at CRSA, Kenan brings a wealth of experience from both sides of the game and a deep understanding of what it takes to help players reach their potential.

Kenan played NCAA Division I soccer at Drake University, where he was one of the program’s top scorers throughout all four years and helped lead the Bulldogs on an impressive run to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2010. During his collegiate years, Kenan also spent four summers playing for the Des Moines Menace, gaining valuable experience with one of the most recognized and successful soccer organizations in the region. Following his collegiate playing career, Kenan continued playing in Europe, competing in Bosnia, Poland, and Croatia, before returning to the United States to pursue his MBA.

His coaching experience spans a wide range of levels and programs, including West Des Moines Soccer Club, Des Moines Menace, Drake University, and Mount Mercy University, along with coaching and assisting at numerous collegiate soccer camps across the country. Kenan currently serves as the Head Coach of Marion Inferno Soccer Club, a local semi-professional program, while also leading the coaching department at CRSA. He is continuing his own coaching education and is currently working toward his USSF B License.

Known for his competitive mentality, international playing experience, and commitment to player development, Kenan believes in challenging players to reach their potential both on and off the field. His goal is simple: to help players become more confident, intelligent, competitive, and complete soccer players. With decades of experience as both a player and coach, Kenan understands that every player develops differently and believes the right coaching environment can have a lasting impact on a young athlete’s confidence, character, and love for the game.

And when he’s not coaching or continuing his own education, Kenan can usually be found following his favorite club, FC Barcelona.
